Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire

18 April 2011 | 1 Comment » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike:  Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire is a thin sauce with an orange color. The hot sauce has a great lime, habanero pepper flavor just like the “old man medium” version.     This hot sauce was supposed to be a little spicier than the “old man medium”.  I didn’t think this sauce was any spicier, what I did notice was that this sauce had a stronger lime taste.   This sauce was very good just like the previous sauce.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I felt that Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire was a good hot sauce.  The hot sauce packed some heat and I loved the flavor just as much as I like the “old man medium” sauce.   I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Screamin Peaches Hot Sauce

Mike:  Screamin Peaches Hot Sauce is  produced by Sweet Life Sauce Company.    This is an orangish colored hot sauce with a thin consistency.   I did not notice a distinct peach taste, but the hot sauce was quite sweet.   You will notice the sting from the peppers almost immediately and it disapates just as quickly.  This sauce would probably be good on chicken and possibly fish.   I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Screamin Peaches Hot Sauce was not as spicy as I thought it would be, the label made the sauce seem very intimidating.  The hot sauce did have a good sweet taste and it definitely did have some heat, but the heat went away quickly.   I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Mike:  Boodreaux’s Cajun Rocket Fuel is produced by Sweet Life Sauces.  This sauce is a very thin sauce with some small chunks.  The hot sauce reminds me a little bit of Tababasco Sauce, but with a lot more depth to the flavor.  This hot sauce would probably not be very good on chips, although it is good on eggs.  I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I thought that this hot sauce had a decent flavor and a good amount of heat.  The hot sauce has a little bit of a sweet hint to it.  The heat caught me off guard, it hit the back of my throat almost instantly.  I am rating this hot sauce a 6 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Papa Jack’s Buffalo Hot Sauce

Mike:  I enjoyed the flavor of Papa Jack’s Buffalo Hot Sauce.  The sauce has noticeable garlic flavor added to a buffalo base with a little more heat and some sweetness.  The hot sauce is reddish orange with a moderately thick texture.  The sauce did have noticeable kick, although it did not linger at all.  I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Papa Jack’s Buffalo Hot Sauce has a good flavor with garlic hints.  I thought the sauce had some heat too it, but it is not overpowering.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Mike:  Moonshiner’s Rum Whisky Barrel Pepper Sauce is produced by Race City Sauce Works.  This hot sauce has a great flavor similar to a spicy barbecue sauce.  This hot sauce has a thinner texture and is quite a bit spicier than your typical barbecue sauce.  I’ve has this sauce on chicken and pork and the sauce was great on both.  I would highly recommend coating some chicken with this hot sauce.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  This is a great tasting hot sauce with some kick.   When I tried this hot sauce on chicken, it actually tasted hotter on chicken than on the spoon.  I think this sauce would work great as a marinade.  I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Firie Habanero Hot Sauce

Mike:  Firie Habanero Hot Sauce has a smokey aroma, is brownish orange in color and has a thin consistency.  The first flavors that you notice are the habanero pepper, mango, and smokey flavor and you are left with a smokey after taste.  This sauce is good on chips, fish, and chicken.  The sauce does have a decent amount of heat to it also.  I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Firie Habanero Hot Sauce is brought to you by Smoking J’s Hot Sauce Company and is one of their first sauces.  I enjoyed the smoked habanero pepper taste in the sauce and the hint of mango.  The hot sauce did have a decent amount of heat that seemed to linger in the back of my throat for quite some time.  This hot sauce would be great on meat, eggs, etc.  I am rating this hot sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium

Mike:  Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium is a thin sauce with an orange color. The hot sauce has a great lime, habanero pepper flavor.     This hot sauce was very good on chips and eggs.  This hot sauce  had more heat than I had anticipated since the label says old man medium, someone who is not used to hot sauce would find this sauce to be very spicy.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I felt that Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium was a good review.  The hot sauce packed a little heat and I loved the flavor.  Tom’s Old Man Medium had a lime flavor in it, which gave the hot sauce pleanty of flavor to enjoy.   I can’t wait to try this on various foods because I feel this hot sauce will be good on almost anything.  Yet another habanero pepper hot sauce that I enjoyed and this one is near the top of my favorites.  I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce Review

3 April 2010 | 1 Comment » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike:  Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce from the Intensity Academy has a great garlic flavor with some kick.  The sauce is only slightly thick from the garlic and has an orangish-yellow color.    A whole spoonful of the sauce, by itself had an intense garlic flavor.  I do love garlic, so this sauce is right up my alley.  The primary flavor of this sauce is definitely garlic with very slight hints of the Habanero peppers noticable.  We have already come up with some good ideas for how to use this sauce and will probably post some examples up as we try them.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Coming into the trial of Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce, I knew I would like it because I love garlic.  Our first sample was quite large due to how fast the sauce came out of the bottle.  As soon as the hot sauce hit my mouth, it was garlic that fulfilled my taste buds and then the heat followed.   I was surprised by how much heat this sauce had packed into it, but the garlic is definitely the most potent effect in this sauce.  I liked this sauce a lot, but you need to be able to tolerate garlic because it definitely fits the name of the hot sauce, Garlic Goodness.  I am rating this hot sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Firehouse Hot Sauce Review

30 March 2010 | No Comments » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike: Cajohn’s Firehouse Hot Sauce has a reddish-orange color and is a thin sauce.  You can definitely taste the black pepper and garlic in the sauce.  I mentioned in the video that I thought the sauce would be similar to Tabasco sauce due to the smell and that was not the case, this sauce tastes nothing like Tabasco sauce.  The sauce has a good flavor and moderate to low heat.  I would rate this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  At first we thought that Cajohn’s Firehouse Hot Sauce would taste similar to Tabasco Sauce, but we were wrong.  Firehouse Hot Sauce has a much better taste that the very common Tabasco Sauce, although, I feel that Tabasco Sauce is a little more spicy.  I would recommend that you try this sauce in place of Tabasco Sauce because I guarantee you will enjoy this sauce more.  I am rating Firehouse Hot Sauce 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Genuine One Drop Blazzin Gourmet All Natural Hot Sauce Review

12 January 2010 | No Comments » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike: Genuine One Drop hot sauce has a very sweet unique flavor that peaks off very quickly and seems a little bland in the end. You can eat this sauce with chips like salsa since it isn’t very spicy, despite how the label sounds. I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh: I thought this sauce was very sweet and just a little spicy. Tabasco sauce was worse than this one. I am rating this a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.
