A few of Josh’s friends wanted to try a habanero pepper with us after watching the videos. They all thought the habanero pepper would be a piece of cake to eat, boy were they wrong! One of the guys lost control of his salivary glands and they ran like an open spigot for about two minutes! Josh totally woosed out! He took one small bite of the habanero pepper and then hid the rest of his and refused to eat it.
The habanero pepper I had was quite spicy, it caused me to tear up some and sweat. About a half hour after eating the habanero pepper, my stomach was not happy for a while. This was some good clean fun back in our home town area! I am always up for eating spicy foods with new victims!
Mike: The hottest wings at Buffalo Wild Wings are the Blazzin’ wings. The Blazzin wing hot sauce tastes similar to your traditional wing sauce with some additional heat and some extra touches of black pepper and habanero pepper flavor. I thought the flavor of the hot wing sauce was pretty good. Although these wings had more heat than your average buffalo wings, the heat was no where near unbearable, I actually had more of the sauce on some celery after filming. On the other hand, the sauce did not agree with our digestive systems! Carrie and I both felt uncomfortable when going to bed due to the activity in our systems. I have definitely had hotter wings than this that did not disturb my system as much as these. I am rating these wings a 6 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Josh: Coming into the wing challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings I didn’t expect them to be too hot, until the waitress questioned our order twice. I soon became nervous about the wings and was concerned because the waitress said that the wings were hot and most people did not like the flavor. The first two wings were far less challenging then many of the hot sauces I have tried. Then, once I ate my third wing, the heat began to set in. It became much more of a challenge as I worked through the remainder of the six wings. I thought the flavor was excellent, but I was a little disappointed in the heat after the way the waitress hyped it up. I am rating these wings a 7 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Mike: Bhut Jolokia Brownie by Heart Breaking Dawns was awesome! I have always enjoyed spicy chocolate treats and this one was no different. Spice and chocolate go together great, so when you take a chocolate brownie and add a Ghost Pepper, how could you go wrong. The brownie was a little dry, but the taste was good and the heat level was great. This is a great treat for you to enjoy if you like spicy foods and a great treat to give friends (or enemies) for fun. I am rating the heat of the brownie a 6 out of 10.
Josh: WOW, talk about heat!! This chocolate delight isn’t as soothing as it looks because it is cooked with the world’s hottest pepper, the Ghost Pepper. I did myself a favor and only ate a small crumb and that was still very spicy. My mouth was burning for about half an hour after eating the brownie. Chocolate and spicy do mix together better than I thought. Maybe if the brownie was made with a Jalapeno Pepper I may be able to stand the heat and enjoy the brownie. Maybe I shouldn’t be throwing these ideas out since I will probably regret it later. The Bhut Jolokia brownie is INTENSE. i recommend that you try one or at least pull a prank on someone and make them a brownie sundae. I am rating the Bhut Jolokia Brownie a 9 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Mike: The Serrano Pepper tastes similar to the Jalapeno Pepper, but sometimes has a little bit of a bitter bite to it. I have added Serranos to some meals including burgers with good results. A Serrano Pepper definitely has a little more heat than a Jalapeno. I am rating the Serrano a 6 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Josh: Peppers, I’m not a fan. Some of you may have seen my performance on the Jalapeno Pepper trial and that did not go very well. The Serrano Pepper was quite similar, but in all aspects worse. The Serrano Pepper is fairly small and lacks intimidation, but the inside packs a punch of poor taste and high heat. I do have to mention that I did finish the pepper, although it did not have time to digest, I still have bragging rights! Again, I have not enjoyed any peppers so far and I am not looking forward to the upcoming peppers. I am rating the Serrano Pepper an 8 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Mike: Endorphin Rush Beyond Hot Sauce has a little bit of a barbecue flavor. The flavor of the sauce is alright for a sauce with pepper extract in it. The sauce is a deep red color and is a very thin sauce. This sauce is more for heat than flavor. Adding a small amount of this sauce to your buffalo wings will give you some extra heat. I am rating this sauce a 6 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Josh: Endorphin Rush Beyond Hot Sauce had some heat to it. I did not like the taste of the sauce by itself, it may be a little better on a chip. I can’t imagine putting this sauce on anything else for flavor. This may be a good starter for someone ready to take on some heat. I am rating this sauce a 6 out of 10 on the heat Scale
Isaias and I were having some homemade picodegallo with jalapenos and habaneros in it and we did not feel it was spicy enough, so we decided to eat the remaining habanero peppers by themselves. The habaneros were pretty spicy, but not as hot as I thought the peppers would be. Josh and I will be eating habaneros at a later time, I thought I would put this one up for your enjoyment.
