Dinosaur’s Devil’s Duel Fiendishly Hot Habanero Hot Sauce

8 October 2011 | No Comments » | Hot Sauce Guru

This hot sauce had a mediocre taste with hints of habanero. I only noticed a small amount of heat from the habanero peppers. There was nothing that jumped out at me as unique about this sauce. I am rating this sauce a 3 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Heartbreaking Dawns Classic Gold Hot Sauce

Mike: Heartbreaking Dawns Classic Gold Hot Sauce has a great flavor, that is if you like a sweet hot sauce. This hot sauce tastes very versatile as it would go well with most meats. This is not the type of hot sauce you would think of first for chips, but you may enjoy the sauce on chips too. The hot sauce has a little bit of heat, I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh: I really liked the taste of this hot sauce and could definitely see eating this hot sauce on pork. I think pork is the perfect fit for this hot sauce. I thought this hot sauce had a decent amount of heat and I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire

18 April 2011 | 1 Comment » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike:  Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire is a thin sauce with an orange color. The hot sauce has a great lime, habanero pepper flavor just like the “old man medium” version.     This hot sauce was supposed to be a little spicier than the “old man medium”.  I didn’t think this sauce was any spicier, what I did notice was that this sauce had a stronger lime taste.   This sauce was very good just like the previous sauce.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I felt that Tom’s Hot Sauce, Kickflip Fire was a good hot sauce.  The hot sauce packed some heat and I loved the flavor just as much as I like the “old man medium” sauce.   I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Naga Jolokia Hot Sauce Samples

13 March 2011 | No Comments » | Hot Sauce Guru

These sauce samples were sent to us from Golden Toad Hot Sauces.  They are coming out with a new sauce and narrowed the recipe down to these two versions.  They asked us for our opinion on the sauces. They decided on their final recipe and launched their new hot sauce containing the Naga Jolokia Pepper and Habanero Peppers.  The new sauce is under Xtinction Sauces.  You can email me at hotsauceguru@gmail.com to get your own bottle of this sauce now!

Mike:  I definitely enjoyed the hotter version of the hot sauce better.   I was leaning towards that sauce on the initial trial and afterwards I sampled both sauces on various foods including eggs every morning until the samples were gone.   This hot sauce has a slightly similar tasted to some Habanero hot sauces I have tried.  This hot sauce has a great flavor and a good amount of heat!  I am looking forward to sampling the final product, I know it will be awesome.  I am rating this sauce a 7 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I liked the second hot sauce better than the first.  This hot sauce is very spicy, but it still has a good flavor.  Although I liked the flavor of this hot sauce, it is a little too spicy for me to eat on a regular basis.  I am rating this hot sauce an 8 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Firie Habanero Hot Sauce

Mike:  Firie Habanero Hot Sauce has a smokey aroma, is brownish orange in color and has a thin consistency.  The first flavors that you notice are the habanero pepper, mango, and smokey flavor and you are left with a smokey after taste.  This sauce is good on chips, fish, and chicken.  The sauce does have a decent amount of heat to it also.  I am rating this sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Firie Habanero Hot Sauce is brought to you by Smoking J’s Hot Sauce Company and is one of their first sauces.  I enjoyed the smoked habanero pepper taste in the sauce and the hint of mango.  The hot sauce did have a decent amount of heat that seemed to linger in the back of my throat for quite some time.  This hot sauce would be great on meat, eggs, etc.  I am rating this hot sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium

Mike:  Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium is a thin sauce with an orange color. The hot sauce has a great lime, habanero pepper flavor.     This hot sauce was very good on chips and eggs.  This hot sauce  had more heat than I had anticipated since the label says old man medium, someone who is not used to hot sauce would find this sauce to be very spicy.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I felt that Tom’s Hot Sauce, Old Man Medium was a good review.  The hot sauce packed a little heat and I loved the flavor.  Tom’s Old Man Medium had a lime flavor in it, which gave the hot sauce pleanty of flavor to enjoy.   I can’t wait to try this on various foods because I feel this hot sauce will be good on almost anything.  Yet another habanero pepper hot sauce that I enjoyed and this one is near the top of my favorites.  I am rating this sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Golden Toad Habanero Pepper Sauce

Mike:  Golden Toad Habanero Pepper Sauce tastes exactly how it sounds, like a habanero pepper.   I do like the flavor of habanero pepper, so of course I like the flavor of this hot sauce.  I use habanero hot sauce on my eggs and some Mexican food.  The sauce is orange in color and has a thin consistency.  Since this hot sauce seems to be mostly habanero peppers, it does have a little kick to it.  I am rating this hot sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  I have never had a habanero pepper and Mike said that this hot sauce tastes similar to that.  If Golden Toad Habanero Pepper sauce tastes similar to a habanero pepper, then I wouldn’t mind trying the pepper since I liked the flavor of the hot sauce.  I was expecting some heat from this hot sauce and it delivered.  It was decently hot at first and then builds up slowly to punish its taster, catching you off guard.  I am rating this hot sauce a 6 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce Review

3 April 2010 | 1 Comment » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike:  Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce from the Intensity Academy has a great garlic flavor with some kick.  The sauce is only slightly thick from the garlic and has an orangish-yellow color.    A whole spoonful of the sauce, by itself had an intense garlic flavor.  I do love garlic, so this sauce is right up my alley.  The primary flavor of this sauce is definitely garlic with very slight hints of the Habanero peppers noticable.  We have already come up with some good ideas for how to use this sauce and will probably post some examples up as we try them.  I am rating this hot sauce a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh:  Coming into the trial of Garlic Goodness Hot Sauce, I knew I would like it because I love garlic.  Our first sample was quite large due to how fast the sauce came out of the bottle.  As soon as the hot sauce hit my mouth, it was garlic that fulfilled my taste buds and then the heat followed.   I was surprised by how much heat this sauce had packed into it, but the garlic is definitely the most potent effect in this sauce.  I liked this sauce a lot, but you need to be able to tolerate garlic because it definitely fits the name of the hot sauce, Garlic Goodness.  I am rating this hot sauce a 5 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Scott, Joe, and I sampled this sauce at the Fiery Foods Festival.  The sauce was very tasty.  Josh and I will be doing a full review of the sauce shortly.  We will have to review some other weaker sauces before we build up to this one.

D. L. Jardine’s Blazin Saddle Habanero Pepper Sauce Review

1 March 2010 | No Comments » | Hot Sauce Guru

Mike: D.L. Jardine’s Blazin Saddle hot sauce was not very good on a chip. The flavor was quite sour and the sauce didn’t have much heat. I have tried this sauce with some other food items and it doesn’t taste as sour, but this still would not be a top choice for me. I also feel that the XXX HOT on the label seems a little exaggerated. I am rating this sauce a 3 out of 10 on the heat scale.

Josh: Blazin Saddle had a very sour taste, I did not like the flavor at all. It had a little bit of heat to it, somewhat comparable to Tabasco sauce. I am rating the heat a 4 out of 10 on the heat scale.
